What is an Internal HDMI Mod?

An internal HDMI mod provides the best picture and gaming experience possible for the N64 on modern TVs. The N64 has a digital video signal produced in the console that gets converted to an analog signal designed for older TVs (the red, white, and yellow plugs). During this conversion the video quality is reduced. External adapters or your TV can convert the signal back so it is usable, but the quality isn't as good and there are often issues with a delay (input lag) that can be annoying to play with. With an internal HDMI mod, the video signal is taken before it is converted and it is output directly to a mini HDMI port in a format your TV can use. This makes colors brighter, lines sharper, images are less blurry, there is less input delay/lag and this provides the best experience on modern TVs. It also makes it easy and convenient to use your N64 with any modern TV, which makes it easy to take with you to a friends house or when traveling.

Differences between the GameBox 64HD and Hispeedido

We have tested both adapters side by side with video capture cards and the differences in picture quality for most gameplay are negligible. Both offer good quality image and color. The GameBox 64HD has more filter options, resolutions, and features. However in are opinion, the standard filters on both look the best and the differences are minor. The GameBox offers the best quality and features, and the Hispeedido offers the most value for the price.
